From 27 th to 29 th March 2027, Codarts University of the Arts (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) will host its annual workshop and audition in partnership with AED – Associazione Europea Danza Livorno Italy.
This event offers a unique opportunity for aspiring dancers to engage with professional training and audition for the Bachelor of Dance Performer program at Codarts.

Workshop and audition for CODARTS Rotterdam Dance Academy
LIVORNO (ITALY)
The audition will be held in person and will consist of a lesson in classical, contemporary technique (pre-selection) and the presentation, if the pre-selection is passed, of only one of a maximum of two minutes and in a motivational interview (final). The audition will be preceded by a workshop of three lessons (classical technique, contemporary technique and repertoire). It is possible to participate in workshop and auditions or just auditions. workshop and audition (Saturday stage and Sunday audition) groups 1 and 2 fee 120 euros. Audition only (Monday) group 3 fee 50 euros . You can also participate only in the workshop – to gain experience

Motivation why would you like to study at Codarts
Please bring recorded music as an accompaniment for your solo on a phone or tablet with an
auxiliary output. The music should be downloaded to your device; streaming via WiFi may not be available in the studio. Please do not bring elaborate costumes or props for the solo.

The Codarts Bachelor of Dance program offers an immersive and dynamic four-year curriculum designed to equip future professional dancers for the demands of today’s global dance world. With a carefully structured program that balances technical training and artistic development, students benefit from numerous performance opportunities and an extensive internship network that connects them with leading
dance companies worldwide.
At the heart of the program is a strong focus on personal and professional growth, supported by a dedicated team of Codarts faculty and the unique “team around the artist”; approach, which provides individualized care and mentorship. Additionally, the program features a diverse program of international guest teachers and choreographers, enriching students; exposure to various dance styles and creative processes.
Codarts graduates emerge as versatile, creative, and innovative contemporary dance artists, fully prepared to navigate the ever-evolving professional dance industry. They are equipped with the skills to position themselves confidently in the field, with a commitment to life-long learning and the pursuit of personal success. Many of our alumni now work with some of the most prestigious choreographers and dance companies worldwide, making their mark on the international stage.
AED and Codarts welcome all those who wish to audition to apply for either:
a) Combination of the workshop and audition

The Workshop
The workshop consists of a Ballet and Contemporary technique, followed by the opportunity to learn a short phrase from Codarts current repertoire or an improvisation class. Designed to offer future potential students an immersive experience, this workshop provides valuable insight into our teaching methods, artistic philosophy, and style. It is an excellent way for participants to build confidence, prepare for the audition day, and gain a deeper understanding of what Codarts has to offer.
Beyond technical skills, we, as the audition committee, place great importance on getting to know each candidate on a personal level. This relaxed workshop setting allows us to observe your potential, artistic curiosity, and how you engage with the creative process. It’s a chance for both the students and the faculty
to connect in a more informal environment.
For those who may not yet feel ready to audition for Codarts, the workshop alone provides a valuable opportunity to experience the school firsthand and gain a "taste" of what it means to train with us. It serves as a stepping stone, offering a preview of the program without the pressure of an immediate audition.

Dress code audition/clothing advice
Tight-fitting clothing that clearly enables the viewer to observe your technique
Do not wear skirts or baggy shorts, loose fitting t-shirts or costumes
Ballet shoes are obliged for the ballet section
