The next
Dance auditions are public or private selections in which academies, companies, theaters, productions, and agencies evaluate dancers for training courses, specialization courses, roles, seasonal contracts, or specific projects. They may be technical (performance of predefined exercises), choreographic (company repertoire or general repertoire), or creative (improvisation).
Each audition establishes clear requirements: age, height, experience, specialization (classical, contemporary, musical, commercial), and method of submitting material (CV, photo, video).
Good preparation includes: technical warm-up, study of the required material, careful reading of the announcement, and meeting deadlines.
The AED Dance team is composed of professionals with experience in stage production management and professional training. Members have worked as performers and choreographers in national companies, directed educational projects, and collaborated with internationally recognized institutions.

How the Audition Works
In classical dance auditions, candidates typically undergo a technique lesson with a barre and center exercises. Sometimes they are asked to prepare a choreography from the classical repertoire. The teacher leading the lesson may teach a variation on the spot to test the candidate’s learning speed. Typical barre and center exercises include plié, tandu, jeté, and so on.
Contemporary dance auditions typically consist of a lesson in classical dance, contemporary dance, and improvisation. Contemporary dance lessons and the repertoire of contemporary dance companies are also taught on the spot.
