Eurocity Competition is opened to dancers who present a solo or a pas de deux, divided in two categories: classic, modern/contemporary. Eurocity Competition is part of Lucca Dance Meeting and will take place at the wonderful Giglio Theatre in Lucca, Italy.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1 – The Eurocity competition will be held from Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 May 2023 at Giglio Theater in Lucca (ITALY) and it’s open to young
dancers of all nationalities, divided in 3 categories:
– “Young” ages 11 to 12, based on your age on the official dates of contest (13rd May 2024)
– “Juniores” ages 13 to 16, based on your age on the official dates of contest (13rd May 2024)
– “Seniores” ages 17 to 21, based on your age on the official dates of contest (13rd May 2024)

Dance competition regulations
The fee to be paid is €110 solist and €180 pas de deux. Dancers of pas de deux should belong to the same category. The fee is not refundable under any circumstances. Applications must be received prior to 30/04/2023, no exception given.

3 – Classic category, semifinal
“Juniores” and “Seniores” candidates are required to perform a variation if competing as solo, and a Pas de deux if two candidates compete in couple, or if a candidate competes with a partner or a non competitor person.
– Candidates will have to chose a variation among the following classical ballets: Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixiotte, Esmeralda,
Giselle, Grand Pas Classique, Flower festival in Genzano, Le Corsaire, Le Bayadère, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Napoli,
Paquita, Sylvia, Raymonda, La fille mal Gardèe, La Sylphide, Notre Dame de Paris, Romeo and Giuliet, Fairy Doll, The Pharaoh’s
daughter, The talisman. It is possible to present other variations in derogation, the request is subject to approval by the jury
4. Modern category semifinal
Juniores and Seniores candidates are required to present a variation up to three minutes in lenght, of one of the following styles: contemporary or
modern. – Candidates in “Young” category go straight through to final.
5. – final: Winners of of the semifinals in the Juniores and Seniores categories of both sections, and candidates of the Young category, will go to the final.
Candidates of the Young category, section Classic, can present a variation of their choice (12 years and up pointe work preferred), up to two minutes in lenght.
Candidates of the Juniores and Seniores categories, section Classic, are required to present the following: the same variation of the semifinal if solo participant, a pas de deux if in a couple, both participants or only one.
Candidates of the Modern section admitted to the final are also required to present the same variation of the semifinal, up to three minutes in lenght, of one of the allowed styles.
6. Participants are required to provide the music in MP3 format on a key. Should the recording quality be judged as non professional, the track can be rejected by the jury and cause the exclusion of the candidate from the competition. Candidates are also required to provide their own costume, which must be worn throughout every stage of the competition.
8. The jury of Eurocity will be composed by renowed personalities of the dance world, and its decisions are indisputable.
9. Winners will be awarded with the scholarships
